Fun in the Workshop

Spending time in a workshop is always of benefit, whatever age you are. For children these workshops are a chance to handle reals and equipment, learn to do so safely and come away with a tangible product to be proud of. For those who already have a passion for making things, each of these days will be an opportunity to master new techniques and machinery with expert guidance. Come alone or with a friend and be assured that you will leave with a new view of your own abilities.

Age range

This holiday programme is intended for children of Primary & Intermediate age.

Workshops are held at 206 Cames Road, Mangawhai 0975

Time

Workshops run between 9.30am -2.30pm

Price includes

Guidance and support from a qualified and experienced teacher, all materials and access to a full suite of tools, machinery and equipment.

What you need to bring

Your ideas, enthusiasm and a packed lunch (which should include morning tea).

Safety

Safety boots are not expected but covered shoes are required no jandals. Upon booking you will be sent a brief outline of how we will deal with other safety issues. Places are limited to ensure quality contact time and safety. To book you place please take the link and pay online.

Choose from the following

7th, 15th, 23rd January - Make your own Boomerang

The workshop for those who like things that come back.

Choose from a range of standard designs or break out and create something special. Learn to shape and sand for maximum aerodynamic performance. End the day with a little outdoor testing.  

8th, 16th, 24th January - Make your own Clock

A popular workshop for those determined to be creative about analogue presentation. Create something unique that expresses your individuality; go for wild and wacky or smooth and sophisticated.

A standard quartz mechanism will be central to your design.

9th, 17th, 21st January - Make your own Board Game

Choose Noughts and Crosses, Draughts, Chinese Checkers or Solitaire.

Younger makers may use a simple plan; older/able makers will be encouraged to bring creativity to their build.
Each will be unique, each one-of-a-kind.

10th, 14th, 22nd January - Make your own Toolbox

Make something that supports your continued interest in building stuff!
Personalise it for your own tools and equipment and emblazon it with your a logo or design.
